# $UNIBOT (Mid Cap Utility)

### Reason for initiating a FUD campaign against them:

Telegram trading bots were the hype of the season. Bots are competing fiercely against one another for users and revenue. $UNIBOT was well-loved and had a huge market share.\
\
On **March 8, 2024**, an anonymous person created a FUD campaign with us to bring $UNIBOT down.

### Main challenges:

* **First Mover Advantage**: $UNIBOT was the second trading bot ever created (after Maestro) & the first trading bot with a token.
* **Real Utility:** Product was useful & had acquired good revenue, no. of users & volume...etc.
* **Strong Narrative**: Telegram trading bots was the hype due to speed & ease for trading tokens.
* **Bullish Market**: An overall positive market trend and altcoin season boosting interest.
* **Good Buy Zone:** Price has already retraced 65% from $225 to $80 and making it a screaming good buy.
* **Active Team**: An experienced dev team with full time mods & 24/7 support.&#x20;
* **Ongoing Development**: Regular updates and active marketing & development efforts.
* **Top-Tier KOL investors**: Token holders consisted of prominent KOLs such as NGC Ventures, 0xUnihax0r, DZ, CryptoGodJohn, DCF God, ChillTRD, Evon1er, Woopig and many more.

### Actions Taken by Fluffies:

* **FUD Collection**: AI Agents compiled over 30 instances of $UNIBOT FUD from Twitter.
* **Research and Strategy**: The research team identified key pain points to create several FUD threads and Telegram comments.
* **Community Infiltration**: More than 30 Telegram accounts (including both Fluffies and bots) joined the $UNIBOT community.
* **Initiation of FUD**: The campaign began on March 9th where overall sentiments was good. $UNIBOT has just x2 from the lows ($40 to $80).
  * **Twitter**: Over 20 accounts were used to create threads and post negative comments on every promotional post. AI agents were deployed to spam likes, retweets, and tags on influencer posts.
  * **Telegram**: For several days, whenever moderators were inactive, Fluffies aggressively promoted FUD. When moderators were present, Fluffies engaged in trolling and soft FUD, creating a negative atmosphere within the community. AI agents identified existing FUDders to recruit them and DM-ed new members with FUD to discourage them from buying.
* **Revival of Old FUD:** $UNIBOT had a history of FUD. Though they were long resolved, we had to leverage on them to bring back and rekindle past scares. Some examples include $UNIBOT creator's TG shared phishing announcement, $UNIBOT was run by ex-scammers, $UNIBOT was hacked, with $560k drained from users...etc.
* **Media Tactics**: Published security alerts and negative news articles on high-traffic platforms, using $UNIBOT’s previous hack incident as an example.
* **Alerting KOL**: Smart wallet tracking identified key KOLs holding $UNIBOT. Approached with FUD, at least 80% of them sold their holdings and cut off support.&#x20;
* **KOL Engagement**: Using our smart wallet tracker, we identified several top-tier KOLs' wallets holding $BANANA and approached them with $UNIBOT FUD. Many KOLs including Louis Cooper, Cevo, Rookiexbt then joined the FUD effort on Twitter.
* **Partnership Pressure**: Applied pressure on partnership and ecosystem projects to sever ties and collaborations with $UNIBOT.
* **Community Trust Erosion**: Deployed bot attacks to significantly lower the community trust score on Dexscreener and Dextools.

### **Actions Taken by the $UNIBOT Team**

* **Ignored FUD**: The team disregarded Fluffy Fudders' official FUD announcement.
* **Rejected Termination Fee**: Chose not to contribute to the termination fee to secure permanent immunity against future FUD.
* **Banned Accounts**: Banned multiple Telegram accounts engaged in FUD activities.
* **Dissolved Partnership**: Core team spilt up with $UNISOL bot team, thereby cancelling airdrop campaign previously promised to $UNIBOT holders. <https://x.com/TeamUnibot/status/1767130130529271868>
* **Ongoing Development**: Continued to build, update, and roll out $SOL & Base bots.&#x20;

### Outcome:

* **Price Impact**: $UNIBOT peaked at $90 after the FUD campaign commenced. Within 2 weeks, the price plummeted to $19 (-80%), and within 4 months, it fell to $6 (-94%).
* **Financial Losses**: The team failed to recognize the impact of Fluffy's campaign and incurred significant financial losses.
* **Disbandment of Core Team:** Members spilt up between $UNIBOT & $UNISOL as two seperate projects. While we were uncertain if Fluffies were the cause of it (directly or indirectly), this conflict came in very timely and aided us tremendously in the FUD campaign.
* **Loss of trust:** $UNIBOT subsequently lost more than 20% of their users, volume, fees and revenue.

### **Areas for Improvement**:

* **Counter-productive TG FUD**: $UNIBOT Telegram functioned more like a support channel where lots of people were asking for help. Moonboys and price talks are little to begin with. FUD was easily drowned as people were unbothered & had already been seasoned with existing FUDs.\
  \
  **Correction**: For such cases, Fluffies should have directed more resources to FUD on Twitter as well as on other strategies. Trolling and soft FUD could still be attempted on Telegram.<br>
* **Counter Shilling**: Holders were willing to sell their $UNIBOT due to FUD but were not spoon-fed on where they could rebalance it to.\
  \
  **Correction**: Instead of just FUDding, Fluffies could also shill $BANANA at the same time since both projects are seen as hardcore competitors. This could enable a liquidity transfer as holders tend to jump to a safer ship.&#x20;

### Post Campaign Sentiment:

This was one of the common FUD campaign where business competitors and their community/KOL (with vested interest) tried to take down each other. Fluffy Fudders understood that competition is inevitable and whoever choose to take the bold move first, wins. That is the reality it brings when protocols need to compete each other in a space with fragmented liquidity and strong dilution.\
\
We emphasised with $UNIBOT and ceased our campaign as soon as our price milestones are met. Unfortunately, several team members parted ways while their core team continued to let down their users and spiralled $UNIBOT deeper into the abyss.&#x20;

Now in hindsight, we could observe that most of $UNIBOT competitors are doing exceedingly well. We wish them all the best and hope our FUD campaign has helped to convince many investors to sail with the right ship.
